Cylinder dryer for a paper machine comprising a plurality of drying cylinders (10, 20). The paper web and its lead strip are conducted between said cylinders (10, 20) supported by a fabric (11). For guiding through the cylinder dryer the lead strip (L) having a width of a smaller order of magnitude than the normal width of the web (W), and air blowing means has been arranged adjacent to the drying cylinder and the free draws therein between. Said air blowing means urges the web lead strip against the surface of the supporting fabric (11) or the cylinder. Said blowing means has substantially the same width as the lead strip and it carries a plurality of nozzle holes (14), through which air jets (F<u1>u, F<u2>u) are directed against the web. The covering angle of said air blowing means substantially equals that angle (ss) on which the web supporting fabric (11) and the web (W) on its outside change direction.

The drying part of the paper machine contains a series of successively installed drying cylinders 1 and 2, between which there is a fabric belt 3 with a support zone for the paper web 4 with its leading filling end strip having a width less than the width of the web and means 5 for clamping the leading filling end - strips to a fabric tape or to cylinders, mounted between each two consecutive cylinders opposite the latter and made with a length equal to the arc length / 3 of the cylinder span, the web.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION A drying part of a papermaking machine comprising a series of successively installed drying cylinders, between which there is a fabric tape with a paper web support area with its leading 1m filling end strip width less than the width of the web, means for clamping the leading charge end. to a fabric tape or to cylinders mounted between each two consecutive cylinders and opposite the latter and made a length equal to the length of the arc of the cylinder span by the web, characterized in that, in order to increase the reliability of the leading filling end strip, the means for clamping the leading filling end-strip consists of one or several devices for blowing air with an action width equal to the width of the leading filling end-strip, having a number of nozzles for straight air flow jets, the air blowing device is designed as a series of parallel tubes fitted with a support part with side walls adjacent to them, with the side walls mounted across the movement of the paper web and located along the entire length of the tubes or parts of them, and the distance between the walls is greater than the width of the leading filling end strip.
